We want you to know that we are delighted to have been awarded the Visit England - 'We're Good To Go' accreditation and that our event will be as safe as we can possibly make it, while still being frightening fun for you all!
*TIER 2 RESTRICTIONS - it has always been our policy that you can only purchase tickets for members of your own household and go around the attractions in your family bubble. We felt that limiting household mixing at the event was the best way to ensure maximum safety for our visitors and staff alike. Therefore the new Tier 2 restrictions do not affect our event, as everybody should only have tickets for their household and support bubbles, therefore eliminating household mixing. You can read more about the steps we are taking to keep you safe below...
Once on site you will be taken into a socially distanced safety briefing, which will outline ALL of the steps we have taken to ensure your safety.
We have reduced our intake slot capacity by 75% and they are more spread out throughout the day, on some days there are as many as 16 intake times, up from 3 last year, to ensure social distancing can be adhered to as easily as possible. Only members of the same household or support bubble can enter the site together and go around the scare houses together, in order to adhere to social distancing guidance and law. Please do not purchase tickets for people who do not meet this criteria.
As well as taking these steps around our capacity all of our staff will be wearing face coverings and every visitor MUST wear a face mask of your own when in any of our covered areas, including the scare houses. In addition to this sanitation points will be present at the entrance of each house, and at multiple stages around each one too, to ensure the risk of germs spreading is as low as possible.
The reduce crowd sizes in the event's central hub area, around the main stage, we have made some layout changes for this year's event. The entrance and exit to the Hallowtween area of the site has been modified to allow for one way entry and exit routes, without conflict. These will be clearly marked. The entrance to the hub has been moved away from the stage, again to ensure contact between people viewing the show, and entering the hub, can be avoided. The food outlets have also been moved for the same reason.
The bird of prey display is being moved from a barn you walked past to enter the main event and will be located in an open marquee, away from the main hub. This will move people away from the main hub at times too, again reducing pressure on space.
Inside the houses we are making some changes that will reduce major contact points, making it easier to navigate your way around and also, prior to opening, we are having each house and all major touch points around the site sprayed in a special treatment which is being used by the Government in hospitals and large public spaces, which when applied stops the spread of germs on surfaces for up to 6 weeks. Families will also only be sent into the houses in their groups, with enough time between allowing the next group in to ensure that you will never be in the same area of them at the same time as a different group to yours. Also we have installed air extraction fans throughout all the scare houses, to ensure we have as positive an air environment as we possibly can.
We are making this year's event cashless so you must make sure you have a card on you to enable you to purchase some of our delicious home made street food! Also, when ordering your food we are going to have an online ONLY ordering system that will enable you to order your treats without queuing - more info will be posted on our food & drink page closer to the event!
It should take 2 hours to experience the event in it's entirety and have a fantastic time - and we are advising people not to stay on site any longer than you need to, to enable those entering after you to enjoy the same socially distanced, Covid secure event as you have done, and keeping visitor numbers at a safe number. We want you to enjoy yourselves and have as much peace of mind as possible - whilst also ensuring we can provide as many frights as we did last year!!
This page will be getting updated on a regular basis with more details, and any additional steps we introduce, as the event draws closer...As ever, yours and our staff's safety and well-being remains our number ONE priority at all times and we want you to feel reassured that we are doing everything we can to mitigate any potential risks.
