Terms & Conditions of Sale

  1. York Maze Hallowtween is operated by York Maze Ltd., a company registered in England Reg No.07264520.

  2. By purchasing a ticket you are accepting that these terms and conditions form the basis of any contract between York Maze and yourself, and by extension anyone you are purchasing tickets on behalf of.

  3. HEALTH WARNING. You will be exposed to strobe lights, loud noises, shocks, scares, tight corridors, low ceilings, darkness, smoke machines, steps and uneven ground. Some medical conditions mean that this event will be unsuitable for you. Please think carefully before you buy a ticket.

  4. You are entering a farm environment and the ground may be uneven. You enter the site entirely at your own risk having agreed to the terms and conditions.

  5. This is a scare event and not suitable for young children. The loud noises, smoke and other special effects are concentrated in but not limited to the scare houses. You are likely to encounter Halloween characters anywhere on site with movie quality gore make-up (eg blood, body parts etc) and props (eg chainsaws, axes, weapons). The recommended age range is 10 -15yrs. However, there are no set age restrictions we leave the final decision to parents/guardians. Due to loud noises and other scares used in the Scare Houses this event is particularly unsuitable for infants. Children under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult 18yrs or over at all times including inside the scare houses. Maximum of 8 children per accompanying adult. Proof of age will be requested for anyone who appears under 21 and is claiming to be 16 or over to be able to go into the Scare Houses unaccompanied, or 18 or over to accompany under 16 year olds. Please bring suitable ID.

  6. Face masks are recommended inside the Scare House attractions to protect yourself and other visitors. However they are not compulsory for Hallowtween, it is a personal choice. Face Masks are not required to be worn outside the scare houses.

  7. Covid Pass/Double Jabbed – by purchasing tickets you accept that should Government recommendations be introduced that in the judgement of York Maze apply to Hallowtween that patrons need to be double jabbed, have a ‘Covid Pass’, or other exemption as recommended by Government, then you agree to adhere to the requirements in place at the time of your visit. If you are purchasing tickets for other people you are also agreeing to these terms on their behalf. In order to enter the event you will need to adhere to the Government advice in place at the time of entry. No refunds or cancellation will be available if you fail to adhere to Government advice and are therefore unable to enter York Maze Hallowtween.

  8. Covid lockdown – should the Government introduce new lockdown measures or Tier systems that make it illegal for you to visit on the date you booked, we will not refund your tickets but we will defer the value of your booking (excluding the booking fee) to 2022.

  9. Covid Rule of 6, bubbles or other measures imposing restrictions on your booking but not preventing you from visiting – by booking tickets you accept that there may be further restrictions imposed on your visit, that whilst restrictive do not prevent you from visiting. Under these circumstances you will be expected to visit on the date/time booked, we will not offer to defer your booking to 2022.

  10. Tickets are available for booking at any time from weeks in advance, the day before and on the day of your visit (subject to availability).

  11. Once booked and payment made tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded.

  12. The QR Code sent in your booking confirmation email must be presented (on your mobile device or printout) for scanning at the entrance.

  13. If the ticket is scanned and shows that it has already been redeemed then entry will be refused.

  14. All members of your party must enter together.

  15. Standard Ticket are booked for a specific date & time. The ticket is only valid for entry on the date and timeslot booked. You must arrive within 30 minutes of the booked time shown on your booking confirmation, this is your timeslot. Once inside you may remain on site as long as you wish until closing. Your entry ticket is no longer valid after your booked timeslot closes. Latecomers may be admitted at the sole discretion of York Maze.

  16. Prices on the website are subject to change without notice. We accept most major credit and debit cards in partnership with our ticketing provider. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes. There are no surcharges whatsoever. Once you have paid, we will not increase the price of your tickets.

  17. All online bookings incur a £1.50 per transaction booking fee.

  18. Some activities or Scare Houses may not be able to open for safety reasons, or due to technical or operational reasons. York Maze reserve the right to alter or vary the attractions, rides and shows available without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.

  19. In the unlikely event that York Maze Hallowtween is not able to open on the date you have tickets booked for we will offer you tickets for an alternative date. Only if York Maze cancel the event and no alternative date is available will a refund be considered. Any refund will be limited to the cost of the ticket purchased only. No consequential liability will be covered.

  20. Tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded but you can change the date and time of the booking subject to the terms below.

  21. Date/time can only be changed on full price tickets, and must be done by the customer who bought the ticket(s) by signing into your online ticketing account. Promotional or discounted tickets cannot be changed.

  22. You must change all the tickets in your booking at the same time, you cannot split the booking. Eg if one person in a group can’t make it you cannot change the single ticket. Tickets cannot be cancelled and no refunds will be given.

  23. Any change must be made my midnight the day before arrival. Tickets cannot be changed on the day of arrival and if not used on that day expire and have no value.

  24. Changing to a new date/time is subject to availability and paying the difference in price between the cost of tickets booked and the cost of tickets on the date you want to change to. Alternative dates/times may sell out and if no alternative date/time is available then the booking cannot be changed.

  25. If you are changing dates from a more expensive ticket to a lower priced ticket then no refund will be given. If you then want to change again to a higher priced ticket you will need to pay the additional cost.

  26. Each change of date/time will be subject to a £1.50 per transaction re-booking fee.

  27. If you or anyone in your party has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or has to self-isolate and therefore cannot visit on your booked date you can reschedule the date and time of your entire booking subject to availability and on the payment of the appropriate charges as per the Terms & Conditions above. Any change must be for the whole booking, you cannot change part of your booking. If your isolation period extends beyond the end of the season, or no tickets are available, on proof of status we may agree to defer the value of your tickets (excluding booking fees) to 2022. The extension to 2022 is not a right and is at the sole discretion of York Maze. The deferment must be for your whole booking.

  28. No food or drink, glass bottles, fireworks, sparklers or pets will be allowed into the event site.

  29. The organisers reserve the right to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of patrons.

  30. As members of the audience, ticket holders accept that they may be filmed and sound recorded for broadcast or publication.

  31. You may not touch the members of the cast in any way.

  32. The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission and remove any person without assigning any reason.

  33. The organisers cannot accept financial or other responsibility for any loss or liability incurred as a result of: a) Contracts entered into by visitors, with any stall holder, exhibiter, caterer, performer or other person or organisation on site. b) Any damage to or loss of visitor's property whilst on site. c) Personal injury caused to or death of any visitor at the event say insofar as this arises out of the organiser's negligence.
